The Team from Expressions Dance Academy raised the bar for their Edison Elementary 4th Grade ballet dancers during rehearsals in late October.  The dancers are preparing for their first recital December 14th 2012.

Dance instructor Sarah Inman got some pint-sized help when she conducted a dance class for first through fourth-graders at Will Rogers on Monday. The class is part of the school's emphasis this year on instructing the arts.  Click on the picture for highlights.

Sara Inman the director of Expressions Dance Academy did a warm-up with the Kindergarten through 4th Grade at Will Rogers Elementary as part of the "Fame" Assembly.  This project is designed to use the art of rhythm and movement to activate the students mind to help them be successful the rest of the week.

Ms. Inman did a quick workshop with the teachers at Will Rogers Elementary to get them ready for their "Fame" Assembly Project.

Represent!

The 5th Grade Hip Hop group at Broadmoor Elementary brought their A game to the Hobbs Community Playhouse.  They represented their crew, school and country well.  The other students taught the audience about dances from countries in other parts of the world.  Eveyone did an awesome job.

They started the morning out with a performance for their fellow students at Broadmoor Elementary.  Then they took it up a notch that afternoon when they performed before a packed house of over 100 of their parents, grandparents and fans at the Hobbs Community Playhouse.

Ofcourse no performance is complete without a Grand Finale.  This was where the students worked together to put on a dance at the end of the show and then finished it off with a freestyle dance off.

"Bring the Rain"

Introduction of Expressions Dance Academy

Sara Inman, Kirsten Jett, Kaitlin Arnold, Taylor Arnold, and Lori White of Expressions Dance Academy got the Broadmoor 5th Grade classes warmed up with a rain dance, cow and duck dance, and an exercise of pass the shoe early Monday morning.

Their shoes got plenty of action the week of November 1st - 5th 2010 as Ms. Budagher, Ms. Everhart and Ms. Norton's 5th Grade classes rehearsed their dances from around the world all week.

A group of students practived claps across each other.  A difficult task and one that they worked on all week.

Our greek students practiced a traditional Greek dance where they all met in the middle.  This took a lot of coordination and teamwork.

A group of students did an irish jig with jumping, kicking and running in circles.  All in a day's work in Ireland.

A group of students practiced a traditional spanish dance representing the country of Puerto Rico.

 A group of students learned how to play the drums, jump rope and kick in a traditional african dance.

 A group of students learned how to dance in a circle without running into each other in their Italian dance.  They also practiced ending with a bang.

 A group of students learned how to balance and turn their bodies into a pretzel without falling over...
and they did it with attitude.

A group of students learned a Turkish Dance where they had to coordinate the left and right feet.  Their pinky fingers also got a workout on Monday.
