May Videos
A total of 425 students graduated from Hobbs High School during commencement exercises on May 19.
Raphael Sanchez-Ramirez and Izzak Mendoza wrestle during a scene from Will Rogers' May 22nd production of Tom Sawyer.
Coronado students - including fifth-grader Makayla Hicks - celebrated the Great American Kite Flight on May 18 while their College Lane counterparts had fun at Playday.
HHS special education students celebrated the approaching end of the school year with playday activities on May 15.
Evyn Gallegos and Isaiah Lintz concluded their high school track careers with state championships in Albuquerque on May 11. Gallegos won the girls shot put and Lintz won the broad jump and triple jump.

were the 2012 recipients of the Veteto Excellence in Teaching Awards. The five Hobbs teachers were honored at a May 10 banquet. Click on the picture to view banquet highlights or the teachers' names for classroom highlights.
Alternative Learning Center teacher Wilma Brooks and Mills sixth-grade teacher Wendy Haggerton were each awarded the Donley Excellence in Education award during a May 8 banquet saluting Lea County teachers.
The HHS boys golf team won its first state champion title since 1988 following a May 7-8 tournament in Las Cruces. In addition, Kenneth Fadke successfully defended his state championship individual title.
The May 7 HHS scholarship assembly proved to be a profitable evening for D'Nae Robinett, who collected at $16,000 Vanguard scholarship, a $16,000 Maddox scholarship (and laptop) and received the HHS Principal's Leadership Award.
Sixth graders from all HMS elementary skills got to show off their athletic skills during Playday on May 7.
