It was a bittersweet moment for seniors when they played their last football game, cheered for the final time or took part in the marching band halftime show at the final home game of the season on Oct. 26.

Playing in their final home game of the year (on Senior Day), the Lady Eagles beat Clovis 5-0 on Oct. 26, advancing them to the first round of state playoffs.

The Eagles struck a balanced chord on offense and defense when they shut down Clovis 30-28 in the final minutes of a back-and-forth game at Watson Stadium on Oct. 25.

Teachers had as much fun as students when they dressed up for the Oct. 25th Halloween Pep Rally at Hobbs High School.




toriHHS senior Tori Kleinsteuber graduated early on Oct. 23 - surrounded by classmates, teachers and neighbors who celebrated the event in her front yard.

The Oct. 19th Black and Gold swimming scrimmage was dedicated to team captain, Tori Kleinsteuber, a HHS senior diagnosed with cancer.

There were smiles all around when the soccer team beat Carlsbad 2-1 in overtime on Senior Night, Oct. 22.

The boys cross country team dominated its own meet on Oct. 17, winning by a margin of 42 points. Sammy Carrasco was the first-place finisher.






The Hobbs defense had plenty to smile about on Oct. 11 when lovingtonthey beat Lovington 47-0. It was the second consecutive shutout for the Eagles.




pep rally

HHS students got reved up for the annual Lovington football showdown with a pep rally on Oct. 11.

HHS PE students got a workout on Oct. 10 when NMMI students showed up for the Army Strong Challenge.

Despite some key saves by sophomore goalie Amanda Bryant, the Lady Eagles lost their district opener 1-0 to Carlsbad at home on Oct. 8.

The Eagles hammered Alamogordo 41-0 for their first shutout in six years and a decisive Homecoming victory on Oct. 4.

These were the top-vote winners in the Homecoming Queen and King contest on Oct. 4. Tori Kleinsteuber and Logan Amaya were crowned during half-time activities at the football game later that night.

Hobbs students in all grades got into the school spirit when the Homecoming Parade featured a "Blast from the Past" theme on Oct. 4.
