Stone fifth-grader Kayla Darling won the Lea County Spelling Bee held at Tydings Auditorium on Jan. 8.

HHS Senior Trey Nelson and the rest of the Eagles were heart-broken after Centennial scored the winning three-pointer in the final seconds of the Hobbs Holiday Tournament.
