2015 Homecoming Candidates
Fifteen seniors in running for Homecoming Queen

queenFor the first time this year, Hobbs High School Homecoming King candidates have been nominated by school clubs to join Queen candidates. Each school organization with less than 50 members nominated either a boy or a girl while organizations larger than 50 members got the chance to nominate a girl and a boy candidate. The result was 15 nominees for HHS Homecoming Queen and six nominees for HHS Homecoming King. The candidates and their escorts will be introduced at an assembly scheduled for 2:40 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 in Tasker Arena. boysThe candidates will also ride in next week’s Homecoming parade down Broadway.
The king and queen will be crowned during half-time festivities at the homecoming football game versus Roswell.





Candidates include:

tovarAnnika Tovar - nominated by the Lady Eagles Volleyball team.  The daughter of Joe and Sonia Tovar,  Annika is the volleyball manager and is a member of Student Council, Upward Bound, and St. Helena Youth Group.  She also volunteers for the Knights of Columbus.  She will be escorted by king nominee Justin Santos, who is nominatedsantos by the HHS Student Body.  Justin is the son of Peter and Kristie Santos. He is also a member of HHS Track and Field team, National Honor Society and Student Council.





larisaLarisa Benavides
- nominated by the HHS Student Body. The daughter of Veronica and John Benavides, Larisa plays softball and is an assistant for the Athletic Trainer. She will be escorted by Jeremy Padilla, son of John and Gabriela Padilla.




triplettLara Triplett - nominated by the HHS cheerleaders.  The daughter of Debra and Larry Triplett, she will be escorted by Isaiah Tovar, the son of Leticia and Samuel Tovar.




flowersJensen Flowers - nominated by the HHS Student Council. The daughter of Susan and Neal Flowers, Jensen was elected Secretary of Student Council and is a dancer and student teacher at Maciolek School of Dance. Jensen will be escorted by Bailey Cooper, the son of Tausha and Raine Chaney.





darbyDarby Cavanaugh - nominated by the Theatre Club. The daughter of Geni and Mick Cavanaugh, Darby is involved in dance, band, art and the Stop Bullying Speak - Up Program. She will be escorted by Matthew Ross, the son of Phillip and Amy Ross. 






jeanetteJeanette Garcia
- nominated by the HHS Student Body. The daughter of Martha and Rogelio Garcia, Jeanette will be escorted by Julian Lopez, the son of Julian and Yesenia Lopez.






lozanoSalaisy Lozano - nominated by the Colorguard. She is the daughter of Maria Esparza and Manuela Cerna. She will be escorted by Marcos Vallejo, the son of Christina and Marcos Vallejo.





jazminJazmin Trevino - nominated by Skills USA. The daughter of Neal Trevino and Connie Lerma, she will be escorted by Jonathan Sarmiento, the son of Leticia Lopez.






amberAmber Parsons - nominated by Future Farmers of America (FFA).  Amber is the daughter of Nikki and John Parsons and will  be escorted by Jackson Scott, the son of Greg and Jenny Scott.





vanessaVanessa Palma -  nominated by the HHS National Honor Society. The daughter of Oscar and Maribel Palma, Vanessa is involved in HHS Student Council and the Spanish Club.  She will be  escorted by Brandon Hinojos, son of Manuel and Kala Hinojos.



 

shawMikki Shaw - nominated by the Band.  The daughter of Rohnnie and Michelle Shaw, Mikki is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Jazz Band. She will be escorted by William Downey, son of Padraig and Lynn Downey.





madisonMadison Allen - nominated by the Eagles Varsity Football team.  The daughter of Troy and Rebecca Allen, she is a manager for the football team and a member of the Lady Eagles Softball team. Madison will be escorted by Ryan Wirick, the grandson of Norman and Carolyn Baymond.




marchingtonKalie Marchington - nominated by the HHS Yearbook.  The daughter of Julie Marchington and Bryce Marchington, Kalie is a varsity cheerleader and a member of Student Council and the National Honor Society. She also dances for Maciolek School of Dance.  Kalie will be escorted by Guy Ross Tippy, son of Joe and Debbie Tippy.



castilloAlle Castillo - nominated by the HHS A Capella Choir.  Alle is the daughter of Veronica Castillo and Sergio Castillo and will be escorted by Josh Ponder, the son of Stacie Ponder and Brian Ponder.






brevinBrevin Thompson - nominated by the HHS Student Council.  The son of Brandon and Jana Thompson, Brevin is a varsity football and baseball player. He also is Student Council president, involved in National Honor Society, the Stop Bullying – Speak Up Program and Eagle Buddies. Brevin will be escorted by Chloe Head, daughter of Jennifer and Chris Head.



andreAndre Gomez - nominated by the HHS Student Body. The son of Yvonne and Manny Gomez, Andre is a varsity football player, member of the HHS Track and Field team, National Honor Society and is the senior class vice president.  He will be escorted by queen candidate estelaEstela Veledias, who is nominated by the Spanish Club. She is the daughter of Yvonne Suchil and Johnny Padilla.





josiahJosiah Armstrong - nominated by the National Honor Society.  The son of Megan and Harold Armstrong, Josiah is involved in the Band and Student Council. He is escorted by Katie Gresset, daughter of Christie and Joey Gressett.



amayaIsaac Amaya - nominated by the varsity football team.  The son of Rene Amaya and Martha Torres, Isaac is senior class president and a member of both HHS Student Council and National Honor Society. He will be escorted by Caitleen Dennis, the daughter of Sohyoung and Terry Dennis.

juanJuan Levine - nominated by the Band.  Juan is the son of Robert and Angelica Martinez and will be escorted by Jazmine Mata, granddaughter of Guadalupe and Manuel Mata  and daughter of Melissa Rivera and Renee Villegas Jr. She is a member of the band.
