Annabell Flores

floresHobbs schools is proud to introduce its new teachers to our community. Look for a profile on a new instructor here on a regular basis.

I am Annabell Flores and I teach second grade at Will Rogers Elementary School.

I grew up in the Tri-Cities in Washington. During middle school, my mother packed us all up and moved us to south Texas. There I attended Rio Grande City High School, but I never graduated and dropped out during my sophomore year, During my first pregnancy, I decided to get my GED and pursue a college education. I attended CBC in Washington State and received a certificate in Early Education Child Development. After eight years of teaching early child education, I went back to school. I attended South Texas College in South Texas and graduated with a Social Behavioral Science degree. I then pursued a bachelor’s in English at the University of Texas Pan America and a minor in Spanish.

The reason I want to teach is because of a personal inspiration by a very dedicated teacher I had during my primary education.

My favorite memory from my own days in school is when I received tutoring sessions to advance in my grade level attending two grade levels in one year.

In my spare time  I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

My favorite book is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.
