Hobbs High School student council members on Tuesday sat down for lunch with State Sen. Gay Kernan, a HHS alumna herself.  A former Sanger Elementary School teacher,  Kernan was at the cafeteria as part of National School Lunch Week activities and took advantage of the time to discuss topics that are of importance to students.

Houston Middle School students on Tuesday conducted a mock trial to determine the guilt or innocence of the narrator in the "Tell-Tale Heart,” a short story that Pre-AP 8th graders read in class last week. The trial included eyewitness testimony, cross examination by defense and prosecution attorneys and the swearing in of witnesses.

The Eagles got their second consecutive win with a 43-0 rout of Gadsden on Friday night at Watson. Click on the photo for highlights. Stone students were on the run on Friday afternoon through school hallways in front of classmates, teachers and parents. It was all part of a reward for meeting their AR goals. Broadmoor Elementary School was named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School award winner on Monday. It was the only public school in New Mexico to earn the honor this year and is the first National Blue Ribbon school in Hobbs history. U
