NAEA NATIONAL CONFERENCE
2013
FT. WORTH
As a lifetime patron of the arts the NAEA was interesting and a endless
wealth of information. Artist are almost always passionate about their media
and passionate about the Visual Arts in general, so, to be able to be surrounded
by my peers and countless advocates puts it all in perspective. As a first timer
to the conference I was overwhelmed and pressured for time. There was so
much information we were not all able to take part in everything we wanted.
At the conference we all engaged in workshops, panels and discussions that
will help us as teachers and strengthen our ablility to advocate and protect our
students future in the arts. Being surrounded by other states without any arts
programs, I found out how much our small, but growing, community is paving
the way for other believers. It is so important to invest in our youth, period, but
we can reach the once thought "unreachable" through the arts. The students
today are our future tomorrow and need to be given every opportunity to
succeed.
