The top five finishers in the Districtwide Science Fair Jan. 28 were Trey Teague, Sarah Driskell, Kunal Mankad, Serenity Fuller and first place-winner Taylor Jones.

spelling beeMills sixth-grader Jaden Hutchins and Stone fourth-grader Chandler Brady wait their turns to spell during the Lea County Spelling Bee on Jan. 26. Brady won the bee and Hutchins was a runner-up. Both will compete in the state bee in Albuquerque.

It ws a first when HHS drama students directed sixth-graders in the play, Shake with a Zombie, that featured comedy, dancing and singing. The sixth-graders gave two performances on Jan. 20.
