Gov. Susana Martinez was in Hobbs on May 23 for a ground-breaking at Broadmoor Elementary. Ground was also broken at a second school, Murray Elementary. Both will be ready for students in August 2015.

The Havens family gets a hand with the Murray Elementary School ground breaking from School Board President Lance Wiseman. HMS broke ground for Murray and Broadmoor on May 23.


HMS said goodbye to more than 450 years of education experience when they held their retiree banquet on May 21.


BTW students got in on all of the graduation fun when they held their kindergarten ceremony at Tydings Auditorium on May 20.

HHS history teacher Jack Young was honored with the Donley Excellence in Education Award - and a $10,000 check - during a May 6 banquet.


HHS Senior was among the seniors with a long list of scholarships at the May 5 Scholarship Awards Program.


K'Lee Kent was among the seniors honored when Hobbs hosted Carlsbad for its last homestand on May 1.
