Hobbs High School held its first pep rally of the year to introduce fall sports athletes on Aug. 28









footballThe Eagles lost 41-34 to Mayfield during an opening season game twice delayed by lightning at Watson Field on Aug. 28. But a punt return by Devin Beard and some late scores had them back in the game with a chance to win late in the contest.

With a new school comes a new mascot - and Murray Elementary School students had some fun on Aug. 28 learning what their new mascot would be.

The HHS band was included in the ceremony when the class of 1965 held its 50th reunion in Hobbs on Aug. 22 and honored classmates killed during the Vietnam War.

The Eagles forced the 10-goal mercy rule when they played Artesia in the home season opener on Aug. 25. at Watson Stadium. D'Andre Finney accounted for three goals in the 11-1 matchup.
