It wasn't much of a battle with archrival Clovis on Jan. 29. The Eagles easily won the game 72-46 and extended it's winning streak to four straight.

Middle school students - who were directed by HHS theatre students - were dancing and singing on stage on Jan. 29 in the play, Adventures of a Comic Book Artist.


tone second-graders traveled the world when they put on a musical program - From Here to Timbuktu - on Jan. 29.


The Eagles hosted Carlsbad on Jan. 28 in their lone home wrestling meet of the year. The Cavemen won the contest 57-21.


Jordaan Gonzales was the high scorer with 27 points when the Eagles opened district play with a 88-71 victory over Alamogordo on Tuesday night.


The Lady Eagles had an easy time of it with Goddard on Jan. 22, dispatching the Lady Rockets 52-33 at home.


The Lady Eagles nearly pulled out the victory in a one-point loss to Roswell on Jan. 19.


Stone Elementary's Teagan McCool was the highest HMS finisher - in third place - following the Lea County Spelling Bee on Jan. 14.


HHS theatre students spent a third day auditioning for parts in High School Musical on Jan. 13. THe play was cast that evening and set for production in March.


Students who met their AR goal got to celebrate on Jan. 8 with an Accelerated Reader run down the halls of Mills Elementary School.


The Eagles beat Gadsden 70-47 on Jan. 8 during the second part of a double-header. The girls lost the early game 44-38 to Las Cruces.

Fresh from holiday break, Hobbs High School held a Jan. 7 pep rally to applaud winter sport athletes.


After getting an unexpected break when the Hobbs Holiday Tournament was cancelled by weather for the first time ever, the Eagles were back on the court Jan. 5 for the 75-69 win over Midland.


An Eagle statue commissioned by the Hobbs High School class of 2015 was unveiled on school grounds on Jan. 4.
