by Dec. 1 will receive award notification by Feb. 1. Those who apply by the priority date of Feb. 1 will receive notification by May 1.

Test Taking

When you walk into an exam room with pen or pencil in hand, there’s no substitute for knowing the material on which you’re tested!  Knowing some pointers in taking different tests may also prove to be helpful.

1.                  Read the test directions carefully before you begin to mark any answers.  If the directions are not clear, ask the instructor to clarify them for you before you start.

2.                  Make certain that you know the point system for grading, if some questions are worth more than others, give those more of your time and effort.

3.                  Keep track of the time. Try to decide at the beginning which questions will take you longer to answer, and budget your time accordingly.

4.                  Explore all the questions, then begin with the ones you can answer most easily.

5.                  Make certain you understand the questions before answering.  Don’t get so carried away that you make irrelevant answers.

6.                  Save some time toward the end of the period to go over your test, filling in possible blanks or proofreading your written answers.Write legibly.  Remember, the instructor doesn’t have time to decipher scribbles.
