As part of our ongoing commitment to strong instruction and maximizing learning time for all students, we are implementing a new process called the Chronic Tardy Academic Impact Form, effective immediately.

This process is designed to support student success by addressing excessive unexcused tardies, which can significantly impact learning and classroom continuity.

What to Expect:

After 10 unexcused tardies, a student will receive a grade cap of 60% for the semester.

This does not prevent students from earning course credit, but it reflects missed instructional time.

Teachers will begin documenting unexcused tardies to ensure consistency and accuracy.

How the Process Works:

Each unexcused tardy will be recorded with a date and the teacher's initials.

Documentation will be reviewed by the administration once thresholds are reached.

Students and parents will be asked to review and sign the form.

Opportunities for Improvement:

The grade cap may be removed after 15 consecutive school days with no tardies, encouraging positive attendance habits.

This is not meant to be punitive. Our goal is to reinforce the importance of being on time, present, and ready to learn every day.

We appreciate your partnership in helping students build strong habits that lead to academic success. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your assigned administrator.

Thank you for your support.
