⭐️On Monday, Hobbs High School Boys Soccer Team joined CTECH staff to volunteer at the monthly Roadrunner Food Bank Distribution. Together, they prepared and sorted food boxes, directed traffic, and handed out distribution boxes to families in the Hobbs community.
❤️Through this partnership between Hobbs Municipal Schools and Roadrunner Food Bank, we continue working to address food insecurities in Lea County.

Today is School Custodian Appreciation Day! Mickey Rivas and Luisa Aranda through their positivity and willingness to be of service, take great care each and every day to make sure Central Office is the very best it can be for our staff and our community. As part of a three day visit to SENM Mr. Strickland got to present before the NM Legislative Finance Committee on the benefits of CTE programs in public education, and what it can do for communities through workforce development, and the importance of investing in our students with viable work-based learning initiatives as a part of students overall education experience.
Is making slime fun? Our HMS Board President Terry O'Brain got to test this theory with students at Mills Elementary Tuesday. Using Emily Calandrelli’s book ‘Stay Curious and Keep Exploring’- elementary students across the district formed hypotheses, asked clarifying questions and documented their findings-all while learning about liquids and solids and how when combined, can make something new! It was a great day to be a third grader at HMS!

Congratulations to HMS School board member Joe Calderon on his recognition by the Hobbs Hispano Chamber of Commerce on receiving the first ever Corazon Award for outstanding community leadership from the organization. We are so thankful to have him bring his experience and investment to our school board for the benefits of students and staff, which has been his heart as an active educator for over 50 years!

HMS would like to inform the community that services for longstanding educator and HMS School Board member Peggy Appleton, along with her husband Terry will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at 10:30 am at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church. HMS would like to thank all who have contacted us and shared great stories about their service to the students of Hobbs, and sympathy and prayers for their family and to our staff. The Appleton's will truly be missed by all at HMS and in Hobbs . They were the best example of service above self.
Today at Stone Elementary students in Mrs. Mata's 5th grade class (99.13%) and Mrs. Gordy's 1st grade class (96%) were this weeks winners of "We Caught you in Class" competition! We are so proud of these students and their efforts to be in class to get the most our of what they are learning every day from their teachers. At last night's HMS school board meeting, Mr. Strickland and HHS Principal's Jason Parrish and Chanelle Scott got to present a diploma to new HHS senior graduate Natalie Webb.
